8/1/21 Family Meeting Recap

Dear CPC Family,

As we begin to head toward the fall we are also about to start a new ministry year. The Lord has been so gracious to our church over this past year as we have had to adjust to a new covid COVID reality.  Heading into this new year I want to take a minute and let you know where things stand at our church as it related to both our finances and our ministry plan and required support.

FINANCES:
Our church is supported by a combination of the generosity of those outside our congregation who want to see a new church established, and by the sacrificial giving of those within our church family. The Lord has been good to us over the life of our church and YOU have been incredibly generous.

Our budget for this fiscal year was $214,722.00. We are projecting to end this year with a $11,530.80 short fall in our budget.

For this coming fiscal year we have reduced the budget by 5% to $191,075 and set a goal for congregational giving at $75,000. The reduction of $23,647 from last year’s budget to this year’s budget is the result of learning to do more with less.  The $116,075 between internal to external giving represents outside giving by our support base.  We expect this support commitment to phase out over the next few years.

MINISTRY PLAN

Our theme for this ministry year is 100% participation in the areas of Giving, Inviting, Serving, and Growing.

We want everyone who calls CPC home to have the joy of serving the Lord and growing in grace in these areas. This does not mean that everyone will give 100% of their time (or income) to these areas but that everyone will participate in whatever way the Lord leads them in each of these areas.

Some highlights for this year’s ministry plan are:

Reading Groups - working our way through the book Gentle and LowlyWe will provide a copy for everyone who wants one. We are encouraging everyone to read this book with someone.

Kid’s Sunday school - we will begin Sunday school for kids in eight week sessions starting in October. Sunday school will meet from 9am-9:45am on Sunday Mornings.

Sunday Morning Prayer Time - Starting this fall we will have an opportunity to pray together at 9:30am before the Sunday morning service.

Outreach - We will be having special services, seasonal kid’s parties, and much more.  We are encouraging each member of our church to be intentional about inviting neighbors and friends to join us.

I am so thankful that God has called me to Wallingford and to be pastor of such a wonderful church. I am excited to think about how God is going to use our community to bring light and life to neighbors and friends.

If you have any questions please reach out to me I would love to talk.

Pastor Mike
